Mystery Romance Unveils the first single “Losing You” from the new album FACES OF YOU. Following the success of their 2025 pop-R&B album ELECTRIC LOVE Canadian alt-rock collective Mystery Romance returns with “Losing You,” a polished new single from their forthcoming album FACES OF YOU.
My team has been following this band for a few years now and under the management and direction of Current Records label owner Gerry Young, each release is top quality and “Losing You” is proving to be another hit on the horizon.
The track springs from an old guitar riff written by original member Richard Crooks. Years later, Mike Scullion heard fresh potential in the unfinished idea and built the complete song around that original spark—turning a relationship story into something unexpected. Scullion shaped the arrangement on keyboard before bringing in live musicians, true to his philosophy that nothing beats the human touch.
“Having access to musicians online from around the world is a producer’s dream,” Scullion says. “I sketch the parts digitally, then hire real players to bring them alive. It’s especially a joy to work with my son crafting parts, as he’s become a good guitar player.” “Losing You” showcases that global reach: UK vocalist Nicole McMahon delivers the lead, Hector Ruano (Argentina) lays down the bass, Scullion joins McMahon on background vocals, and his son Caiden Scullion adds guitar.
Originally eyed for ELECTRIC LOVE, the track wasn’t ready in time. Now complete, it fits perfectly on FACES OF YOU, revealing another layer of Mystery Romance’s sound—one that balances melody with surprise. Stream “Losing You” and pre-save FACES OF YOU at https://mysteryromance.ca/
