Before you can catch your breath, the band goes right into LIFE AFTER GOD that unveils an offering that is a relentless dark psychedelic epic metal track but takes their lethal intensity to another level as the backdrop to a poignant and liberating lyric flaunting the oppression of expectations of religion, love and society … “Life After God, I found my own Heaven.” LUCIAN delivers a convincing anthemic vocal taking us through the angst and liberation of finding oneself before the point of no return with tribulations of everyday life while DIRK and LOIC display their world-class musicianship as they have together for over twenty years, four bands, with countless albums tours as a rhythm section.
THE WHISPERING takes us to the darker side on EVIL EYE with a haunting heavy groove laden track that lays a wicked musical landscape delivered by FHOR, COLIN, and TOBIAS KELLGREN on drums. The song lays out the spiritual roadmap of being on the other side and coming back from the harrowing edge of the abyss and back from the shadows who live in oblivion.
We are further enchanted into THE WHISPERING trip as we hear an unexpected acoustic intro on the last but not least song on the EPPRETTY WITCHES. The ethereal acoustic intro is only an illusion where Lucian Fhor sings a ballad that romanticizes the conflict with the outside world of living with a witch and then all hell breaks loose when the band goes into metal anthem mode with LUCIAN, COLIN, TOBIAS and so “As the crows fly, It’s a wild ride” to finish the EP.
As the euphoria of this musical experience dawns upon us one pauses to reflect and dive into the who, how and what is THE WHISPERING. LUCIAN FHOR (Vocalist/Guitarist) of THE WHISPERING has been under the radar of the music industry for over a decade and certainly not your regular entry into the Metal/Rock genre championship. The long road or the high road however you wish to denominate it. From the onset of his career where he was signed to several major publishing companies under different aliases, signed to numerous record deals under different names, musical director of several international superstars, His charisma is notable from the moment he walks onto stages he has lit up on Festivals globally throughout the years. He is now ready to take his place as a legitimate contender built from the ground up.
Rarely does a persona come along that can carry the torch of rebellion against injustice and oppression that summons a call to arms frowning upon ignorance twisted by hypocrisy that burns deeply to awaken the hearts of any metalhead and rockhead comprehensive of the arts as convincingly as LUCIAN FHOR seems to naturally conjure with raging guitars, a voice that sears your soul yet soars like an eagle and lyrics that challenge the status quo.

LOIC COLIN, a French bassist, and key figure in the technical metal scene for decades, with a long-standing rhythmic fusion with DIRK throughout many bands, including Scarve, One Way Mirror and Watcha. LOIC is also a recording engineer in his own right who specializes in high-end audio production and is a columnist for Bass Part and Bassiste Magazines. And is the recording engineer on the first half of the album.

DIRK VERBEUREN is currently the drummer for MEGADETH on the farewell album and tour. DIRK stepped in to finish THE WHISPERING album when KELLGREN was unavailable in the window necessary to finish the album due to the unforeseen closing of BESCO RECORDING in July of 2025. He did not hesitate to reunite with his partner in crime LOIC COLIN who played together in four bands over 20 years.

TOBIAS KELLGREN is a warrior on drums and Swedish cult figure who can be heard on albums by DIssection, Wolf, Soulreaper, and played on extensive tours in Sacramentum or In Flames since the 90’s and is the touring drummer for this band.
Tobias laughs out loud “Out of the blue, I received a message from Lucian Fhor, a guy from Los Angeles I didn’t know. He was reaching out to me after he had been listening to “Live Legacy” (a live recording with Dissection from Wachen festival 1997) for some time. He told me he liked my playing and wanted me to participate as a drummer for a new band.
“After sending some demos with riffs and ideas back and forth- this project became more and more ambitious and made sense. After a short while there were ideas and songs enough to record. By that time the management had booked a really nice recording studio situated just outside Paris. We had a blast in the studio, recorded the drums within a couple of days. It felt really nice to finally meet with Lucian, Loic (bass player and studio tech) and our producer Dan in the flesh for the first time. This group of people is a force to be reckoned with. Prepare yourselves!”

THE HOW…
The album itself, was recorded at the famous Besco Recording Studios in France with industry veteran, Producer/Manager Dan McConomy at the helm during all of 2025 and exactly a year later to the day with engineer/mixer Mohammad “Momo” Sadeghin they concluded the album. Mastering for the record is delivered by the legendary Randy Merrill at Sterling Sound.
Lucian gives us the backstory on THE WHISPERING recording. “My manager had been working with me silently throughout the years and completely supported me when I had a fallout with my prior Producer during the initial recordings of these songs under another moniker/band name that never saw the light of day. That studio experience was extremely disappointing even though I was surrounded by the most elite musicians in the biz coming out of the Desert Rock scene of Palm Springs. The vision of these songs was just not coming through they were too retro or bland. I wanted a heavy sound that was deliberate and worthy of the lyrical content. He encouraged my vision and to start all over again and get it right.”
“First up on the list was who do you want in the band? My absolute favorite dark metal groove drummer was TOBIAS KELLGREN from the cult metal act DISSECTION in Sweden,” Lucian said. “Tobias had that thing I was looking for on the earlier songs of THE WHISPERING. So, we set out to get him to Paris and record at Besco Recording residential studio in February 2025. He had hung up the sticks for a few years at that point but worked himself back into shape in the three months leading up to recording of the initial four songs on side B of the album.”
“But it was not to be an easy accomplishment. Unfortunately, two different elite bassists were supposed to join the band but were swept up by iconic bands for extensive world tours leading up to the recording. “We decided to use the engineer, Loic Colin, to fill in on the recording sessions until we found a permanent bassist. Though it was not initially in the cards, Loic just happened to be a kick ass metal bassist from France that had made four iconic albums with DIRK VERBEUREN on drums. During the first half of the recording, we just hit it off. Great sessions. Great vibes. So I asked him to join the band and the rest is history”
After getting through the initial recording the studio owner of BESCO let us know they were closing their doors on July 1st, 2025. LUCIAN describes the situation “Our Producer was worried that it would be near impossible to match the sound of the album if we did not finish the second half of the album at Besco. Problem was Tobias was unavailable in the window the recording had to take place due to scheduling conflicts. LOIC came to me with the idea of Dirk recording the second half of the album. They had played on eight albums together in various bands including notably SCARVE for over 20 years. It just made sense. All of us vibe well. I brought them guitar and vox demos and they just brought the songs to life with me. It was an amazing process.”
With the full self-titled album The Whispering on the horizon the band explains that it is somewhat conceptual with sound design weaving all ten songs off the album together as one. It will be coming out this Fall. The group has their own imprint, LAG Records, distributed digitally by The Orchard worldwide that is handled by Bigger Management. Vinyl, CD’s and Merchandise are being released through various licensing deals to be announced soon.
