We’ll Be Right Back After This Short Break!

2021 (and 2020 for that matter) reads like the famous quote:

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” – Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

As I post this, another year has come to a close here at Cashbox Canada, Cashbox Radio and our newest venture – Record World International. It has been a year of change, disappointments, reconfiguring, live shows booked then cancelled, festivals postponed.

But on a positive note, I saw so many professionals and artists moving ahead with resilience and perpetual optimism. I witnessed creative people recreating themselves, finding ways to continue to hone their craft, release music, connecting with others.

We received more music submissions than ever before and some of it was like a breath of fresh air in production and content. We had more time to listen.

I want to reach out now to all the artists and music creators – ALWAYS remember without music none of us would have made it through these last two years. Music will always be part of the mosaic of life, healing us, taking us back in time, bonding us in a way no other art can. (well maybe dance for those of you who know me personally!)

I always give the advice to succeed you have to have the team. I am blessed with Cashbox Canada, Cashbox Radio and Record World International to have been surrounded by the best team I could have ever expected to work with; they have stuck by me, continued to bring our readers and listeners the very best they could while working under extremely difficult times. I am grateful to them and because of them, we will continue to bring new music, stories on the legendary artists, business news and be the pulse of the music scene that is still so needed, perhaps now more than ever.

This is our last issue for 2021, but not our last issue which could have been the case without my team and the support of our music friends and colleagues.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from us to you and we will see you when we return January 8, 2022 to continue our musical journeys together.

So as they say in TV Land – ‘We’ll Be Right Back After This Short Break!’
