Every December, something extraordinary happens. The lights shine a little brighter. The songs sound a little warmer. And somewhere between the first snowfall and the last encore, Andy Kim steps on stage and reminds us that kindness still sells out.
The 21st Annual Andy Kim Christmas is coming back to Toronto’s legendary Massey Hall on December 3, a tradition so deeply Canadian it might as well come with a double-double and an emotional standing ovation. For more than two decades, Andy has turned his holiday concert into a season of giving, raising over 2.25 million dollars for charities across Canada. This year, the Toronto show supports CAMH’s Gifts of Light, bringing hope and care to people in need.
This year, Andy’s sleigh goes even further. The Andy Kim Christmas is heading west to Vancouver’s River Rock Casino Resort on December 13 for its first West Coast edition, with proceeds supporting Variety, the Children’s Charity of B.C. And Montreal, where this whole dream began, your show is coming soon.
There is something about Andy that feels timeless. He is the rare artist who sings songs that bring people together. He has sold over 30 million records, written some of the world’s most joyful hits like “Rock Me Gently” and “Sugar, Sugar,” and still walks into every room like a kid from Montreal chasing a dream. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada, a Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, and one of the kindest human beings you could ever meet.
Every year, the Andy Kim Christmas lineup reads like a mixtape of Canada’s greatest hits. Past guests have included Colin James, Cowboy Junkies, Dan Hill, Feist, Georgia Harmer, High Flyer, Jacksoul, Jake Clemons, Jully Black, Kim Mitchell, Lights, Maestro, Men Without Hats, Metric, Michel Pagliaro, Molly Johnson, Nelly Furtado, Russell Peters, Sam Roberts, Sarah McLachlan, Scott Helman, Serena Ryder, Sloan, The Sadies, The Sheepdogs, Alex Lifeson, Arkells, Barenaked Ladies, Billy Talent, Bobby Bazini, Broken Social Scene, BUCK65, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Choir! Choir! Choir!, City and Colour, The Strumbellas, The Trews, Tom Cochrane, Tom Wilson, Tyler Shaw, William Prince among many others. You never know who will show up, but you always know why. Because Andy calls, and people say yes. That is the power of someone whose career runs on gratitude.
In Vancouver, the show will feature even more surprises thanks to Andy’s longtime friend, Grammy-winning legend Andrew Loog Oldham, who is joining the effort with The Legacy Loog Foundation. Expect an unforgettable night of music, generosity, and the kind of laughter that fills the room before the first chord is even struck.
Anyone who has met Andy knows his Christmas spirit lives year-round. He remembers your name, your story, and probably your favorite record. When he says “it’s up to anyone who really believes in a dream to fight for it,” he speaks from a life built on hope and perseverance.
From his teenage days walking into New York’s Brill Building with nothing but belief, to topping the Billboard charts twice, to raising millions for charity, Andy Kim has always believed in music’s power to heal. His shows are celebrations of faith in each other, in community, and in the magic of a song shared together.
Toronto, get ready for December 3. Vancouver, light up December 13. Montreal, your turn is coming. The Andy Kim Christmas is a reminder that the heart of a dreamer can change the world, one song at a time.
And if you listen closely this December, you might hear the whole country singing along.
