CJ Cooper has packed a lot into her short 24 years on this planet. Reading her list of musical accomplishments you realize how far she’s already come in such a short period of time. She has already released two albums, has performed for companies like National Bank Open, Sportsnet, TD Bank, and the CFL. She has open for Biff Naked at Canadian Music Week and played at the London Music Hall.
And this summer CJ got to take it to the next level. As an award winner in the Music In Motion Canada contest she was invited to perform at the 4th Annual Lilla By Festivalen in Rinkaby, Sweden. This was an opportunity to perform in front of a global live audience and delegates from around the world and representatives of major events. Her performances included a main stage set and a set in the more intimate and personal setting in the Kanada Barn.

“It was my first time performing overseas so I was excited and a little nervous. But more so a nervousness of anticipation rather than of fear.”
A Showcase Festival is an opportunity for an artist to reach an audience that can help elevate their career to a new level and CJ Cooper took full advantage of the opportunity, networking and making herself available to all the delegates and influencers as well as striking friendships and connections with fellow artists and meeting new fans from around the world.

“Looking out at the smiling faces and appreciative people listening to my music over 4,000 miles from home was an incredible feeling. Walking through the crowd after a set I had a woman approach me and in broken English telling my songs and voice touched and made her feel good was something I will always treasure.”
The end result of her appearance and performance at the Lilla By Festivalen was a list of future career opportunities for CJ that will propel her into a different stratosphere professionally. European bookings and future trade missions are already in the works.
By now being signed by Canadian industry icon Sandy Graham’s EMG Collectives, CJ Cooper will join the stable of musicians, performers, songwriters and industry delegates. She will now be included in the busy schedule of EMG Collectives projects that include representing Canada in various events in Europe and Canada, crossing borders and building bridges.
Keep your eyes and ears open for this future star – CJ Cooper.
