“I trust your lips, but not your eyes”.
As notable Canadian singer-songwriter Rosanne Baker Thornley gains more ground and visibility with her newly released album “Sorry I’m Late”, comes an acoustic version of her single “Because of Me”, a single that was released earlier this year.
“Because of Me” is released Friday, April 21st. You will find the video here –
Stripped down to its beginnings, this new video was filmed and recorded in the intimate setting of her east-end Toronto, formerly 1920’s milk dairy. In a “just me, my heart, my guitar”, Rosanne plans to share acoustic versions of her album tracks in unusual and interesting locations in what she’s entitled ‘the acoustic editions’. Filmed by Cinematographer Artem Mykhailetskyi; Edited by Isabela Popolizio; Audio by William Schollar.
As to what fuelled “Because of Me” –
“Some songs you want to write. And some songs, you need to write. Rarely are songs written about indifferent relationships. Rather it’s the relationships that so deeply move you, that you need to write about them – to celebrate them or, to try to find peace with them. Here is “Because of Me” – my telling of an uncomplicated sharing of hearts, and the complicated outcome. A track from my new album stripped back to its beginnings.” – RBT.
