Heading into the 40th Anniversary of Canadian Music Week, Singer/Songwriter Michelle Titian is excited to be performing at an official showcase, opening for the Rhasta Phil & Friends show at The Revival Bar in Toronto on June 9th, 2022.
A natural talent with a powerful story, Michelle Titian is a world-class Canadian singer-songwriter who brings raw emotion and real substance to a yearning music industry. With poignant lyrics and emotive performances, Michelle’s upcoming album is a true testament to the strength that can manifest through vulnerability and the beautiful connections that can be built through an honest soul.
Michelle’s intrinsic musical talent allows her to effortlessly arrange melodies and harmonies that tap into human emotions and share artful lyrics that speak to the human soul. Her songs are an open and unashamed exposure of her battle with alcohol and depression, her journey to recovery and the love she feels for her life now.
Michelle Titian is also the co-founder of the Drive Foundation, whose mission is to employ music, the arts, and technology in its programs to accelerate the world’s transition to removing the stigma from mental illness and addiction and taking a holistic approach to the provision of care and prevention.
We caught up with Michelle here in Canada to discuss her upcoming showcase, “I am extremely excited and full of gratitude for the opportunity to perform and showcase this year at Canadian Music Week! As a founding member of The Drive Foundation, a registered Canadian charity that supports those afflicted by mental health and addiction through music, the arts and recovery programs, I am honoured that a portion of the proceeds from the event will be going to The Drive Foundation. Drive’s vision is to utilize music and the arts as a platform to communicate to the masses a message of strength and hope to those who are struggling. With the recent announcement of our newest advisory board members, Peter Åstedt from Sweden and Sandy Graham from Toronto, we hope to carry this powerful message of strength and hope across the globe. Our purpose is to raise mental health awareness, encourage those who are struggling to reach for help and provide the proper resources for those in need by focusing on the solution. If you or anyone you know is struggling, please reach for help.”
The Drive Foundation is now moving forward to make this a global movement, with the theory music has no borders and neither do mental health issues. By raising awareness and creating a support and solution area on the website https://drivefoundation.org/.
“The Canadian Music Week Showcase guest appearance is truly the beginning of our mission to
‘Ignite The Power Of Healing’ by creating panels and discussions around the world, spreading the word of acceptance and hope,” Michelle explains. “We will be unveiling our new platforms and partnerships in the very near future.”
