has recently release an set of albums on all major streaming platforms “Let Me Leave You,” “That Shows You What I Know” and “Why is it Me.” All three albums are fully-remastered compilations made up of previous recordings, some of which have never been available in the US before, and come just months after Time Life released four other digital albums by the pop/rock icon.
“A lot of these songs have been on separate albums that have been released around the world but not here in the states,” explains Kent LaVoie, who records as Lobo. “They all have a universal ‘Lobo’ sound no matter what the musical style is, but there are some songs that just feel like the others and so we wanted them to be together,” he adds, referring to the compilation process he undertook with his longtime collaborator, Billy Aerts. The digital albums feature an assortment of tracks written by Lobo, some written by Lobo and Aerts together and a small selection of cover songs.
Last October, Time Life released four digital albums from Lobo, including “If I Could Do It Over: The Acoustic Hits,” new recordings that reimagined Lobo’s biggest songs and personal favorites as if they were demos with LaVoie playing all the instruments and Aerts adding backing vocals. Other albums released at the same time were “Faithful” (previously unavailable in the United States), cover album “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and newly recorded versions of hit songs (in premium quality audio) on “Timeless: The Very Best.” The company also launched Lobo’s official YouTube channel at the same time. Lobo’s dreamy love songs dominated the Adult Contemporary charts for decades with 12 Top 20 AC hits and four AC No. 1’s, and have remained popular around the world ever since, with Lobo logging over a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.
